# Atlas

Route: /atlas · Status: stable · Checked against code: 2026-10-15 1cb8c01

Atlas is a whiteboard for when a list is not enough: lay out a plan, a decision or a project
as cards on a canvas and say how they relate — this depends on that, this blocks that.

## What you see

- **The boards list** — your boards, a blank board, and templates (GTD, Eisenhower matrix, OKR,
  decision tree, user journey).
- **An open board** — the canvas with notes, shapes, frames (to group an area), images, link
cards and freehand sketches, plus **live cards** of your real tasks, goals, ideas, habits and
notes dragged in from the side panel.
- **The toolbar** — the board's name, the link type for new connections, AI tools, comments,
share, and export (PNG, SVG, PDF, Markdown).
- **Brain map** (`/atlas/brain`) — a picture of what is on your mind right now, built from
your open tasks, goals, ideas and habits each time you open it.

## How to use it

1. Open a blank board or a template.
2. Add notes and shapes; drag your tasks, goals or ideas in from the side panel.
3. Pick a link type and draw a connection: **relates to**, **depends on**, **leads to**,
   **blocks**, **contradicts**.
4. Stuck? Ask AI to generate a mind map from a sentence, suggest missing connections, or look
at the whole board and comment on it.
5. Share a read-only link, or export the board.

## How it works

- **Live cards are your data.** A task card on a board is the task itself: tick it there and it
is done in Tasks. Deleting a card from a board does not delete the task.
- **Hints, never edits.** A small pill in the corner points out one thing at a time — a loop
of dependencies, a card with no links, a long chain of blockers. AI suggestions for new links
come as a list you tick; nothing is added until you apply it.
- **Boards and projects.** A board can belong to a project; the project's **Atlas** tab shows
its main board as a live mini-map, who drew it, and its other boards. A note page can embed a
  board.
- **Live on every device.** Edits made on another device appear on an open board within
seconds, and small badges show where else it is open.
- **Sharing** creates a public, read-only link. Publishing again makes a new link and the old
one stops working; unpublishing turns it off.
- The Brain map is not saved — it is recomputed from your data on every visit.
